The University of Missouri - Center for Sustainable energy has partnered with the HBA to present the Greening Missouri Homes Conference March 16-17 in Jefferson City. The home builders associations in St. Louis, Springfield and Jefferson City are also taking part in the two-day conference.

French and Mather Host Past Presidents Lunch |

More than 130 HBA members celebrated the New Year when Tom French and Richard Mather hosted the third in a series of lunches helping connect new and veteran members of the association. The January lunch was held at the HBA office.

FHA Allows First-Time Buyers to Use Tax Credit at Closing |
|
During an address to the NAHB Board of Directors, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan announced a plan that will allow first-time buyers qualifying for the $8,000 tax credit and obtaining an FHA loan to use the funds at closing for a down payment and other costs.

Effective Aug. 28 home builders are required by Missouri state law to provide homebuyers an option to choose installation of a residential fire sprinkler before signing a contract for the purchase of a new home.
